About Us

Thank you for visiting Tips-on-Managing-Money.com — I hope it has been and will be a very informative and educational stay for you. Before I go into detail as to why I created this web site, I will tell you a little bit about us and my background:

First of all let me introduce myself; My name is Bob Thie. I was born and raised in the great Midwestern city of Cincinnati, OH -USA-. I have a B.S. in Economics from the University of Cincinnati. And yes, I am a big fan of the local sports teams… Bengals, Reds and I bleed Bearcat red!

I have been self-employed (independent contractor) since 2001. I am the creator, founder, publisher and financial consultant of — www.tips-on-managing-money.com —

The reasons why I created this web site are many. As I was doing my research for this web site, as well as talking to people on a daily basis I discovered that very few people plan for the future. In a survey conducted by Scottrade, an online investment firm, the majority of Americans are unprepared for retirement.

The other problem that I discovered was that the people who do have retirement plans – 401k – are betting and gambling their future retirement on a very risky and volatile financial markets. And as you know many people have had their portfolios eroded due to the recent financial/economic crisis.

Job security is another major issue. With corporate downsizing and massive layoffs now the rule rather than the exception, job security is now a thing of the past. You need to have an alternative plan in case you lose your job.

Last but not least one of my major inspirations for creating this web site was to help provide a solution to the on going health care crisis in the United States. I have been on a preventive health care program since December of 2003, and have been in excellent health ever since. I explain in great detail how a preventive health care program such as the one I have been on since 2003 can play a major role in finding a solution to rising health care cost.

In summation, our step-by-step financial plan action guide is meant to give you an alternative choice. A low risk alternative to the risky retirement plans (401k for example) that the majority of Americans currently depend on.
